One of the most trusted names in news around the world has been routinely targeted and breached by hackers, leading to two bogus stories being reported.
Reuters recently revealed that it had been hit by a hacking attack on its blogging platform that allowed the intruder to post bogus news about a Saudi Arabain foreign minister's supposed death, according to a report from
the news agency.
"Reuters did not report the false story and the post was immediately deleted. We are working to address the problem," said Barb Burg, director of global communications at Reuters News.
This incident came quickly on the heels of an August 3 incident in which phony reports about rebels in Syria, and another two days later on its ReutersTech Twitter account, the report said. The identity of the hacker or hackers responsible for these various attacks is still unknown.
