CFA to Unveil New Identity Theft Website
Website offers CFA’s Best Practices for Identity Theft Services and other resources for consumers and businesses developed by a working group of identity theft experts and consumer advocates
Washington, D.C. – September 6, 2011 – Identity Theft 911 is proud to be a contributing member of the Consumer Federation of America (CFA) identity theft website. On Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern, the CFA will release the website, which will feature CFA’s Best Practices for Identity Theft Services and other resources for consumers and businesses. CFA developed the Best Practices to curb misleading claims and other problems with identity theft services and encourage good industry practices.
During the press teleconference Susan Grant, CFA’s Director of Consumer Protection, will:
• Unveil the new ID theft website
• Discuss resources available on the website for consumers and businesses
• Explain how ID theft services work
• Identify members of CFA’s Identity Theft Service Best Practices Working Group
• Explain why the best practices were needed and provide highlights from them
• Discuss plans for future work
